Val is an American sports executive, a former lawyer, and a former basketball player who is currently serving as the commissioner of the Big East Conference. 

In addition to her work at the Big East, Commissioner Ackerman is best known for being the first president of the WNBA, serving from 1996 to 2005.

In this episode, hear Val and Caroline discuss how the landscape of women’s sports has changed over the last 27 years since she became the first woman to successfully launch & operate a women's team sports league in the U.S., and why Val is optimistic about the future of women’s sports.
