Ep. #58 Hilary Knight is #GOALS (And It’s Good Business to Invest in Professional Women’s Hockey), ft. Hilary Knight
In episode #58 of 🎙️The Business Case For Women’s Sports, presented by Ally, we sat down with the legendary Hilary Knight.
Hilary Knight is an Olympic Gold Medalist and USA women’s hockey star and advocate.
Hilary’s impact in women’s hockey is felt both on and off the ice - and most notably, Hilary has been a leading voice in the efforts to professionalize women’s ice hockey and get women in hockey equitable resources and opportunities.
Largely thanks to Hilary's efforts as a player advocate, a new, unified professional women’s hockey league was just established in North America called the Professional Women’s Hockey League - or the PWHL.
The league will unify professional women’s hockey in North America and will feature the best players in the world.
The PWHL is backed financially by Mark and Kimbra Walter and is led by a Board of Directors that includes Billie Jean King, Ilana Kloss, and Los Angeles Dodgers President Stan Kasten, and Dodgers Senior Vice President of Business Strategy Royce Cohen.
In this episode, hear Hilary and Caroline discuss the plans for the PWHL, why it’s GREAT business to invest in women’s professional hockey.
